How did PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH get left out of the LONGEVITY conversation?
We measure almost everything.
✔️ Blood pressure.
✔️ Glucose.
✔️ Hormones.
✔️ Inflammation.
✔️ Sleep.
✔️ Body composition.
✔️ Biological age.
Yet one of the most consequential systems influencing how we live, perform and age is often treated as separate from “HEALTH”:
OUR PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH.
It shouldn’t be. They interface with the BODY.
And psychological health influences something even more fundamental: BEHAVIOR.
How we sleep.
How we eat.
Whether we exercise.
How we recover.
How we manage stress.
Whether we adhere to treatment.
How we maintain relationships and social connections.
You cannot meaningfully talk about long-term health, wellness and longevity while treating the MIND as an entirely separate system.
The next generation of health needs to connect the pieces:
MIND x BODY x BIOLOGY x BEHAVIOR
Psychological and emotional health should never have been left out of the longevity conversation. It’s time to put it back in.
