PSYCHOLOGY + LONGEVITY

How did PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH get left out of the LONGEVITY conversation?

We measure almost everything.

✔️ Blood pressure.

✔️ Glucose.

✔️ Hormones.

✔️ Inflammation.

✔️ Sleep.

✔️ Body composition.

✔️ Biological age.

Yet one of the most consequential systems influencing how we live, perform and age is often treated as separate from “HEALTH”:

OUR PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH.

It shouldn’t be. They interface with the BODY.

And psychological health influences something even more fundamental: BEHAVIOR.

  • How we sleep.

  • How we eat.

  • Whether we exercise.

  • How we recover.

  • How we manage stress.

  • Whether we adhere to treatment.

  • How we maintain relationships and social connections.

You cannot meaningfully talk about long-term health, wellness and longevity while treating the MIND as an entirely separate system.

The next generation of health needs to connect the pieces:

MIND x BODY x BIOLOGY x BEHAVIOR

‍Psychological and emotional health should never have been left out of the longevity conversation. It’s time to put it back in. ‍
